Join our club – Juniors
What?
The Juniors field 9 teams starting at:
- U12 (Year 7) to U16 (Year 11) for the boys and
- U12 (Year 7) to U18 (Year 13), in two-year increments, for the girls. (Note: U11 Girls (Year 6) can choose to be in either the U11 Mixed team or the U12 Girls team.)
- Once the boys reach U17 (Year 12) they transition to the Colts team.
- Once the girls are beyond U18s they transition into the Women’s team.
See the table below to identify which team you will be joining when you start.
When?
The Junior section trains on:
- Sundays between 1045 and 1215 for the U12s to U16s boys and 1230 to 1400 for all the girls teams.
- Wednesdays between 1900 and 2000 for the U12s to U14s boys and U12 to U16 girls. The U15s and U16s boys and U18 girls train between 2000 and 2100.
- During the out of season summer months, training times may vary.
Where?
At the club in Western Turville – click here. Parents will be added to an app called Spond which will tell you all you need to know for every session including which pitch you are playing on.
How – do I join?
Just come along to training, ask someone where your group is training and speak to a coach. They will explain everything you have to do. For the player’s wellbeing, you will have to complete a medical form (hard copies available in the Clubhouse) and hand it to your coach BEFORE any training. We do this in case we need to be aware of any conditions ahead of trying out rugby. In short though, try it out for 2 weeks and if you like it just pay your membership through this website here – after that you are good to go.
What kit do I need?
Just PE kit to start with, a gum shield and a pair of studded boots (must not be blades). Only studded boot footwear is to be worn on the artificial grass pitch (AGP).
The kit shop here has everything you need as well as a selection of quality second hand boots if you need to get you going.
