A Statement on safe play and healthy players:

  • Aylesbury Rugby Football Club’s responsibility towards the health and safety of players, staff and volunteers is our highest priority. We have put in place appropriate measures for training, first aid provision and equipment to ensure that rugby union is delivered to the highest standards in a safe and enjoyable environment.
  • All junior and mini coaches complete DBS checks, safeguarding courses and many are first aid trained.
  • We endorse the RFU’s Injury Prevention Exercise Programme called Activate which is integrated into training and pre-match sessions.
  • Exercises are designed to improve functional and core strength, balance and agility, helping players with the game’s physical demands
  • We endorse the RFU’s HEADCASE programme which aims to increase understanding and provide information on concussion and other related topics, including how to prevent and manage suspected concussions. It is recognised as one of the UK’s leading concussion awareness and education resources.
  • We mandate all coaches and encourage all players, parents and guardians to complete the RFU’s HEADCASE eLearning module (30 mins) which can be found here
  • All players, irrespective of age group, are to report to the Club Physio Team at the earliest opportunity if it is suspected they may have been concussed.  The Team are free and are available Tue, Wed or Thu evenings for booking.
  • Everyone is expected to follow our code of conduct which can be found here
