The team did a great job bouncing back from their first loss of the season against a talented Wallingford team.
In bright sunshine, it was a great day for running rugby which is what was served up for the first 20 minutes. We controlled the breakdown and spread the ball well which saw us grab three tries early on with Harriet S, Beth A and Verity PW crossing over for tries.
We went off the boil for the rest of the half but offered up some great defence. We spend lots of time in our own 22 but managed to keep Wallingford to just 7 points meaning a half-time score of 19-7.
A slow start to the second half saw Wallingford score again bring the score to 19-12. Again, some great defence saw us keep Wallingford to just the one score.
We got our groove back in the second half and scored another couple of tries through Hattie B and Maddy W.
There were lots of positives such as Beth and Hattie getting some great turnovers and massive effort in defence.
There were also a few negatives with some poor handling and unfortunately, a couple of concussions.
It was a good step in the right direction and we can hopefully build on this.
