A rested and rejuvenated Aylesbury side were dominant in their clash with top of the table Bishops Stortford, with a confident team performance sealing the win and clean sheet.
The game got off to a shaky start with a fumbled catch by the home side but the scrum that followed showed the intent. Bishops Stortford were driven back by the As pack and the Aylesbury team started their march up the field. Scrum half Johanna was leading from the front as ever, sniping around the breakdowns and releasing runners on hard and soft lines.
After a period of play in the opposition 22, Johanna saw her chance with a quick penalty and crossed for the first points of the game with the extras added by Aisha.
Sustained pressure from the forwards saw the back line in space and Lowenna began making ground every time she touched the ball. The ball soon found its way back to her wing and she needed no invitation to put the hammer down leaving a trail of opposition players in her wake before crossing the whitewash.
With the scrum dominant and deep in their opponents half, a training ground move worked to perfection with forwards and backs linking well from the set piece and flanker Leila getting the offload on the loop to add the next points making the HT score 17-0.
Bishops Stortford gave no ground and battled hard but the women in magenta and black had found another gear with forward pods queuing up to take the hard line and cutting through the defence seeing second row Katey and No 8 Charlotte score in quick succession. The back line worked their patterns and made significant gains up the field with every play leading to perfect field position for Charlotte to pick from the base of a scrum and crash over to close out the game 32-0.
Forward of the match went to No 8 Charlotte with 2 tries and setting up the other scoring move.
Back of the match was wing Lowenna who has found another level each game, carrying with speed and strength and getting a well deserved try.
