Aylesbury U13yrs squad away at Northampton BBOS fought a hard opening game of the season with the home team coming out on top thanks to good rucking, strong running and the efforts of one particular standout player. Aylesbury took a while to get into their rhythm but the forwards, were brave and courageous trying to stem the flow. In the 2nd half the team built on an imperious scrum which turned over nearly every BBOS put in, giving more ball to the half backs. This increased possession and improved defence pressure by the backs, combined with some clever quick tap penalties put them on the front foot for much of the 4th quarter leading to three noteworthy late tries. Good inter-play down the blind side created some excellent scores that lifted everyone’s spirits and should give us some added optimism for the season ahead. Oh and Rhys got a hattrick if nobody noticed!
