A MESSAGE FROM THE RFU….

“Ahead of the Season Switchover planned for 1 July, we wanted to let you know of improvements being made to GMS in the table opposite.

When registering you will now be able to select your child’s preferred rugby format - Contact, Non-Contact or Both. You can also input the school/college your child attends, if applicable, and if they participate in rugby there. This quick and easy entry will take seconds to complete. By doing so, you’ll be supporting better understanding of the health of the game and helping rugby to flourish at your club!

From 1 July, age grade players/parents will receive an email informing them that registration is now open for the 2026/27 season. These will be sent in age group blocks as below:

  • Wednesday 1 July: Minis U12s and below
  • Thursday 2 July: Minis U12s and below
  • Friday 3 July: Juniors (U13s, 14s, 15s, 16s)
  • Saturday 4 July: U17s and U18s”

PLAYER WELFARE

"As parents and guardians, you play a key role in supporting your child’s welfare in rugby. EnglandRugby.com provides a wide range of useful information to help you feel confident in this area, including:

Activate: England Rugby’s evidence-based warm-up programme, designed to reduce injury risk and optimise performance.

HEADCASE: England Rugby’s concussion awareness and education programme, helping everyone recognise and manage head injuries safely.  See here to access this important 30 min course for parents https://www.aylesburyrfc.co.uk/player_welfare

LooseHeadz: a rugby-based mental health charity dedicated to supporting the wellbeing of players, coaches and the wider rugby community.

Female Health toolkits: empowering players, parents and coaches with the knowledge to support female health in rugby.

Information and resources also highlight what good practice looks like, helping you understand what your child’s club should have in place to support player welfare. Clubs have a responsibility to prioritise welfare, including having the right first aid provision, policies, and clear support processes on and off the pitch."
