We have enjoyed a most positive start to season 2025/2026. Our Youth rugby goes from strength to strength with over 40 new players joining ARFC learn to play and enjoy all that rugby brings to those who participate in our great game.  Our Senior Section has attracted new men and women players; we are now able to field 3 senior men’s and 2 senior women’s team in local leagues.   The first of this season’s large social and fundraising events takes place at the Club on Saturday 1stNovember when we will celebrate Bonfire Night with a spectacular fireworks display.  Funds raised will support the training costs of our excellent pool of volunteers.

Last year’s Bonfire night saw over 680 members and friends enjoy the fireworks and food, and the occasional libation.  This event provides so much enjoyment for our younger membership but does require significant organisation.  To ensure the event goes off safely, and is enjoyed by all, we rely on volunteers to undertake various necessary tasks.  We need help setting up the car park (11 am till 1pm, Friday 31stOct) and on Saturday 1stNov with managing the car parking (5 30pm – 7pm), fire marshalling (6 45 pm – 8 pm), first aider cover (6 45 pm – 8 pm).  Help, from 6pm, is also needed to support our excellent B-B-Q team perform their culinary “magic”.  Please do not bring your own fireworks to the event to ensure safety for all.

If you can give a few hours please contact Paul Casey, our Volunteer Coordinator, by email on jpcasey65@gmail.comor by phone on 07596950404.  We see the same volunteers year after year; new support would be most welcome!  Parking is always at a premium, accordingly, if you can ‘car share’ for Bonfire Night that will really help with car parking which is always a real challenge on these busy days.  I’m really looking forward to Bonfire Night, please volunteer if you can: one Club, one team: COYAs!
